Press-lunch at the Pozniaky Heat Supply Station
On June 8, the team of the USAID Municipal Energy Reform Project in Ukraine (USAID Project) had lunch today with the journalists from national media. The press lunch was held at the heat supply station (HSS) Pozniaky which supplies heat and hot water to the residents of Pozniaky and Osokorky residential districts. The press lunch was organized with the support of the Kyiv City State Administration, Kyivteploenergo (KTE) and USAID Project. The event was devoted to the issues related to work of CU "Kyivteploenergo", namely: preparation for the heating season, anti-emergency work, tariffs for heat and hot water supply (which are now lower in KTE than in Kyivenergo), as well as to whom payments for hot water and heating should be made, where to get advice and conclude the contracts, etc.
One of the important issues discussed during the event was also cooperation with the USAID Project. As part of the partnership, the USAID Project will help Kyiv develop a new heat supply plan for the city. This will allow to increase energy efficiency and reduce costs in this sector. In addition, the Project will support a number of information events to inform the Kyiv residents about the changes that take place in the course of the heat networks’ transition to communal ownership.
The questions of the media were answered by the following speakers: Petro Panteleiev, KCSA Deputy Chairman; Viacheslav Bind, Acting Director of Communal Utility "Kyivteploenergo"; Andrii Shcherbyna, Director General of the Communal Concern “Communal Service Center”; Dmytro Yemelyanenko, Deputy Chief of Party of the USAID Municipal Energy Reform Project in Ukraine.
